Group Graphing Project

Who doesn’t love graphing? Seriously! Graphing and data collection and analysis are some of my favorite sections to teach. I did this project with my 6th graders this year. Students worked in cooperative groups and interviewed at least 50 students. They came up with a question that interested them and 5 choices. Students then had to make a frequency table, line plot and bar graph.

Each student had to hand in the worksheet (below) but they also used chart paper to create their graphs. The students worked (surprisingly?) well together and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Enjoy!
